  14. 1.1 Field level security
  15. The field restriction  "Don't show" is now respected for data returned in
  16. XML format, and for CDML mail format files.
  17.  
  18. 1.2 No Browse permission and -dup
  19. The Web Security database restriction for Browse permission is now
  20. respected for URLs that contain -dup.
  21.  
  22. 1.3   New formatting tags disabled
  23. The following CDML tags, all new to FileMaker Pro 5.0, have been disabled: 
  24. -fmtfield
  25. -mailfmtfield
  26. -errorfmtfield

  28. 1.4  Inline action tags
  29. The Inline action tags, new to FileMaker Pro 5 now respect security
  30. permissions.

  33. 2. Additional information about Web Security
  34.  
  35. 2.1 The web companion recognizes FIELD level security via FileMaker Pro
  36. Access Privileges and the Web Security databases, and RECORD level security
  37. via the Web Security Databases.
  38.  
  39. However, LAYOUT level security provided via FileMaker Pro Access Privileges
  40. is not recognized by the Web Companion.
  41.  
  42. 2.2 FileMaker Inc. recommends that you disable Web Companion file sharing
  43. for the web security databases.
  44.  
  45. 2.3 It is recommended that Access Logging be enabled (via Web Companion
  46. Configuration).  This Log provides a means to audit possible suspicious
  47. activity.
  48.  
  49. 2.4 The Web Security database permissions for Create, Edit, or Delete do
  50. not restrict ScriptMaker™ scripts from performing these actions.  To secure
  51. databases that have ScriptMaker™ scripts which include New, Duplicate,
  52. Edit, or Delete steps, use FileMaker Pro Access Privileges.

  55. 3. Installation Instructions
  56.  
  57. 3.1 Quit the FileMaker Pro application if it is currently running.
  58.  
  59. 3.2 In the "FileMaker Extensions" folder, located inside the "FileMaker Pro
  60. 5" folder, rename the "Web Companion" file to "Web Companion old" and move
  61. it out of the "FileMaker Extensions" folder.

  63. 3.3 Move the new, downloaded "Web Companion" file into the "FileMaker 
  64. Extensions" folder, located inside the "FileMaker Pro 5" folder.

  66. 3.4 Launch FileMaker Pro.

  68. 3.5 After verifying your web solution(s) function properly, delete the "Web
  69. Companion old" file.
